North Shore Winter Landscapes
Dates: February 21-22, 2026
Where: Minnesota North Shore
What: Frozen cliffs. Crystalline ice shelves. Moody winter skies. This workshop is a minimalist's dream. Join us for an immersive winter shoot along Lake Superior's rugged coast. We'll chase ice textures, sun pillars, and the subtle glow of midwinter fog. Based near Lutsen, we’ll access hidden coves and waterfalls in their frozen form.
Who It's For: Intermediate to advanced landscape photographers who want access, local knowledge, and winter refinement.
North Shore Spring Waterfalls
Dates: May 15-17, 2026
Where: Minnesota North Shore Basecamp: Lutsen
What: Waterfall season arrives in full force. Moss awakens. Rivers roar. This 3-day workshop focuses on peak spring runoff. We’ll work long exposures, water-edge compositions, and the interplay of soft forest light. We move between Temperance, Cascade, Caribou, and secret mid-trail scenes.
Photographic Focus: Powerful water flow with mist & glow, Moody skies and forest-floor texture, Black rock + green spring color combos
Who It's For: All levels. Anyone ready to shoot in light rain and muddy boots to get timeless motion work.
Palouse, WA
Dates: May 29–June 3
Where: The Palouse • Basecamp: Colfax (alt: Pullman)
What: Rolling wheat hills at their lush green peak. We’ll chase sidelight from ridge tops, work telephoto abstracts from Steptoe & Kamiak, and hunt patterns—S-curves, tractor lines, lone trees, barns, elevators. Sunset/dawn runs plus mid-day scouting for graphic studies.

Who It’s For: All levels. Photographers who love composition-first landscapes and don’t mind driving farm roads for the perfect angle.
BWCA Aurora & Canoe Adventure
Dates: June 17-21, 2026
Location: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
Northern Light potential meets quiet lake mornings. This is a unique canoe-based workshop focused on minimalism, silence, and deep reflection. Expect remote shooting. Glassy water. Epic night skies. We'll paddle into a curated location and basecamp from there.
Photographic Focus: Northern Lights reflected on water, Sunrise mist from a canoe, Wildlife + loons + starscape silhouettes
Basecamp: Remote paddle-in site (route announced pre-trip)
Who It's For: Intermediate+ photographers comfortable with canoe camping and limited gear. Not a resort tour.
Wind River, WY
Dates: July 10–14
Where: Wind River Range • Basecamp: Pinedale
What: Alpine faces, wildflower basins, and high-country storms. We’ll work sunrise on lakes (Fremont/Green River area weather-permitting) and evenings on dramatic granite with moving cloud. Mid-day drills on mountain compositions, safety, and storm strategy.
Photographic Focus: Granite + meadow color • Reflections & leading lines at lakes • Fast-changing light/storm play • Telephoto ridge layers
Who It’s For: Comfortable hikers (easy–moderate mileage) and anyone excited by big-mountain light. Weather awareness required; we pivot for lightning and wind.
North Shore Peak Fall Colors
Dates: September 18-22, 2026 or 25-29 (partials available)
Location: Minnesota North Shore Basecamp: Grand Marais
Fiery maples above deep cliffs. Lighthouses framed by color. Fall fog drifting through river gorges. This is a local-driven fall workshop chasing color where it breaks first. We’ll work sunrises over the lake, cliffside overlooks, and intimate forest scenes. Designed for maximum image variety in a compact time frame.
Photographic Focus: Peak maple + birch fall color, Sunrise/sunset drama over water, High-contrast forest light
Who It's For: Any photographer ready for early mornings and trail miles. Full itinerary but manageable days.
San Juan Mtns, CO
Dates: October 2–6 — Few spots left
Where: San Juan Mountains • Basecamp: Ridgway (access to Ouray/Telluride corridors)
What: Peak aspen gold with rugged peaks. We’ll rotate Dallas Divide, Last Dollar Road, and basin roads (conditions-dependent) to stay in the best color and light. Sunrise ridgelines, sunset backlight, and a polarizer-heavy mid-day for trunks and creek scenes.
Photographic Focus: Backlit aspens & gold canopies • Grand scenics with snow-dusted peaks • Aspen trunk patterns • Dust/haze layers at distance
Who It’s For: All levels. Anyone ready for graded mountain roads (no extreme off-roading) and chasing the best groves each day.
Shenandoah, VA
Dates: October 16–20 — Few spots left
Where: Shenandoah National Park • Basecamp: Luray (central Skyline Drive access)
What: Blue Ridge layers, fog inversions, and fiery hardwood color. Dawn overlooks for ridge layering, mid-day waterfalls (Dark Hollow/Whiteoak) with polarizers, and golden-hour forest light around Big Meadows and Stony Man/Hawksbill.
Photographic Focus: Telephoto ridge stacking & atmospherics • Waterfalls with controlled shutter • Forest color + beam work • Classic Skyline Drive overlooks
Who It’s For: All levels. Ideal for photographers who want varied subjects in short drives/hikes with a strong chance of mist and layered vistas.
