THE EXPERIENCE
Spring brings the North Shore into motion.
Water levels, rain and light change the character of every river. We will follow the strongest conditions instead of forcing a fixed location list, using each scene to study flow, structure and timing.
This is a working photography experience: we slow down, compare shutter choices and refine the frame until the water supports the composition instead of overwhelming it.

Water levels and access vary with spring weather; no specific flow or location is guaranteed.

A FLEXIBLE THREE-DAY PLAN
Built around conditions, not clockwork.
Day 1 · Read the water
Sunrise orientation, moving-water fundamentals, midday field review and sunset or blue-hour work.
Day 2 · Shape motion
Work several river and waterfall compositions, compare shutter choices and adapt the route around weather and safe access.
Day 3 · Refine and finish
Return to the strongest opportunity, apply individual coaching and complete a final field session.

I work beside you in the field, demonstrate how I read the light, and give specific feedback on composition, exposure, focal length and the frame you are building. With only four participants, instruction can respond to your experience, questions and the conditions in front of us.

A $250 deposit reserves your place. The remaining $745 balance is due March 15, 2027. This workshop is limited to four photographers and will operate with a minimum of two paid participants.

Know what to expect.
How demanding is the workshop?
Expect short hikes, stairs and wet or uneven footing near moving water. Exact locations adapt to safety, weather and the group's mobility.
What happens if water levels or weather change?
The route flexes. Safety comes first, and locations shift to use the strongest available water and light rather than promise one specific waterfall.
Do I need filters?
A circular polarizer is strongly recommended for glare and wet surfaces. Neutral-density filters are helpful for longer exposures but are not required; bring a tripod and weather protection.
What is the cancellation policy?
More than 60 days before the workshop, your deposit may be transferred once to another 2BPhotographyMN tour taking place within 18 months. Within 60 days, all payments are nonrefundable. If 2BPhotographyMN cancels or the two-participant minimum is not reached, all payments are refunded.
